Clinton is a registered psychologist who sees children at the Wembley and Joondalup locations. Clinton completed his Master of Psychology (Clinical) training at Edith Cowan University, in which his experience includes working within private practice, community mental health, youth justice settings, and community counselling aimed at high-risk harm behaviours.
Clinton comes from an attachment-based and client-centred approach, centred around the child and family’s individual needs. Clinton provides assessment and therapy intervention to children and adolescents experiencing a range of issues including depression, anxiety, social, emotional, mental health, schooling, sleep, cognitive, and behavioural issues and has specific experience working with complex cases, including; high-risk behaviours (self-harm and suicidal ideation), personality disorders, and experiences of psychosis.
Clinton believes in working in a manner which provides a safe, warm and inviting space for children and adolescents. He utilises interventions that include; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotional identification and regulation skills, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Mentalization-Based Practice in a manner which is appropriate for the child/adolescents age and ability and in which allows therapy to be both an effective, fun and encouraging experience.
In his spare time, Clinton enjoys; spending time with his family; being active either running with his energetic border collie, playing football, surfing, and recently surf-skateboarding; music and learning guitar, and playing video games (He knows a great deal about Fortnite!).
