Mel is a Registered Psychologist who has provided counselling in educational and government agencies to support the emotional, psychological and learning needs of youths and their families over the past 20 years.
Mel aims to create a safe therapy space which is non-judgmental and light-hearted. Her approach is collaborative and places focus on the therapeutic relationship, developing positive coping strategies and encouraging connectedness. Mel provides assessment and therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents presenting with social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties, with a special interest supporting youths with High-functioning Autism. Her therapeutic modalities include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and she has a post-graduate qualification in Art Therapy.
