Emelia Scidone
Emelia has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) which she completed at Curtin University. She has been working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner since January 2023 and received endorsement as a Proficient Practitioner in December 2024. Currently she is working towards achieving her Advanced endorsement through skills development and training.
Before entering the NDIS space, Emelia worked for 2 years as a Special Needs Education Assistant in mainstream primary schools. During her time as an Education Assistant and Behaviour Support Practitioner, Emelia has assisted and implemented behaviour management strategies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Development Delay, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Panic Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, PICA, impaired hearing, non-speaking, and vision loss. This has included behaviours involving verbal aggression, property damage, physical aggression, harm to self, withdrawal, absconding, and school refusal. Emelia is committed to working with families with their individualised needs to support safety and wellbeing by focusing on the situation holistically and assisting with practical strategies.
In her spare time, Emelia enjoys travelling, engaging in her hobby of photography, and getting her gym time in.
