Laura Blood
Laura is an experienced UK-trained Registered Psychologist who has recently arrived in Australia.
Laura has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) which she completed at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. In addition to her extensive clinical work, she also taught and mentored clinical psychology trainees in evidence-based assessment and intervention.
Laura has experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression and complex trauma.
Laura specialises in trauma-informed therapy helping her clients to make sense of their experiences and build safety, stability, and resilience. She uses evidence-based approaches in her work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and tailors therapy to each person’s unique needs and developmental stage. She places strong value on creating a neuroaffirming, warm, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship, and works alongside clients to develop practical strategies, strengthen emotional understanding, and support meaningful change.
In her spare time Laura enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and especially her fur baby, Tiddles the cat.
