Valerie Phoon
Valerie graduated with a Masters degree in Speech Pathology Studies from the University of Queensland and has been working with children and adolescents with communication difficulties since that time. Valerie is originally from Canada and has experience working in both Canada and Australia.
Valerie enjoys working with clients and their families to set goals that will have a positive impact on their everyday lives. She is passionate about helping clients to achieve their communication goals in a fun way, incorporating their strengths and interests to create engaging sessions. Valerie believes that everyone has a voice and the capacity to express what they want, when they want, how they
want. She has worked with clients across a range of abilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, and Cerebral Palsy. Along with their families, Valerie believes working collaboratively with schools and other allied health professionals to establish a holistic therapy plan is essential for success.
Valerie loves music, travel, and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves to take her dog, Luna, for walks.
