If problem solving is a goal for your child’s OT, a comprehensive history will first be taken along with a possible functional assessment involving a child solving a problem, plus a variety of assessments to identify impacting factors prior to a treatment plan being put into place. Problem solving skills involve identifying the problem, finding solutions and trying them out and evaluating how the solution went.
