Carissa has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy which she completed at Edith Cowan University in 2018.
Whilst completing her studies, Carissa worked as a therapy assistant within the Autism Specific Early Learning Care Centre, running group and individualised programs. Since then Carissa has worked within an Early Intervention Team, specialising in working with families and their children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has also worked within a multidisciplinary team supporting individuals aged between 2-66years old, with a variety of diagnosis including; Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Global Developmental Delay, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome and Achondroplasia.
Carissa has a passion for working with young children and their families to meet their goals and improve their quality of life. She has a special interest in toileting and enjoys talking about all things ‘poos and wees’.
In her spare time Carissa enjoys running around after her son and spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys being outdoors and travelling.
